You might want to hide a tattoo for certain occasions. The easy way to accomplish this is with makeup. It only takes a few minutes to apply, and there is minimal cost involved. You can purchase the necessary makeup from a local drugstore. Be sure to choose a color that matches your skin tone. The best way to figure out what color to use is to test the makeup on the back of your hand. The makeup should blend in with your skin tone.

Step 1

Start with a clean slate. Wash the tattooed area thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.

Step 2

Apply the concealer to the area you intend to cover. Using a cotton ball, smear a small amount of concealer in a circular motion from the center of the tattoo to the perimeter. Use as much concealer as necessary to create a base for the foundation. The tattoo is still somewhat visible after completion of this step. Allow the concealer to set for at least two minutes before proceeding.

Step 3

Apply the liquid foundation to a fresh cotton ball. Use enough foundation to completely cover the area where you just applied concealer. Dab the foundation on; do not use a smearing motion, as it may remove the concealer. Continue to dab the foundation to cover the tattoo completely, while blending at the same time. Allow the foundation to dry for at least 30 seconds after application.

Step 4

Apply setting powder to a fresh cotton ball. Dab the powder over the entire area of foundation. Lightly brush off excess powder with another cotton ball. Allow the powder to set for another minute before touching it with clothing or other items.
