Many educational activities are available for teens visiting the Windy City. It's also possible for teens to exercise their bodies while exercising their minds in Chicago. Lincoln Park
Chicago's Lincoln Park is an ideal space for a game of frisbee, and teens can also walk over to the zoo or conservatory to learn about biology and nature. This activity is also completely free, and the Lincoln Park Zoo and Conservatory are open year round. Teens will enjoy the world-class wildlife facilities while learning about conservation.
Bike Tours
Chicago is the third largest city in the U.S., and it boasts some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world. One enjoyable way to learn about the architecture of downtown Chicago is by taking a group bike tour. Guides tell riders about the buildings while riding bicycles through the Windy City.
Museum Campus
Teens can work out their lower bodies while filling their heads with new knowledge on the Museum Campus. Three institutions are located within walking distance of each other. They are the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium and Shedd Aquarium. This area is located between the Lakeshore Trail and the Magnificent Mile, in case your teens want to explore a few more miles of Chicago.
Camps
A few local camps are available to teenage residents of Chicago. These camps generally occur during the summertime and last between one and two weeks. Camps center around anything from art or music to environmentalism and writing workshops. The Chicago Park District hosts many of these summer camps, but private camps are also available at higher costs.
Art
Teens who are interested in art will love the museums and galleries of Chicago. Future art students should visit the Art Institute of Chicago and the Museum of Contemporary Art. More mature teens may prefer local art galleries in the River North or Pilsen neighborhoods. Art festivals are held in various neighborhoods throughout the summer months.
