Located minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is Sevierville, Tennessee. Though its mountainous views and surroundings may inspire romance, you don't have to be coupled to enjoy a visit to Sevierville. Singles can take part in a range of activities, from an assortment of indoor entertainment to outdoor sports and exploration.

Museums

A museum visit is entertaining, educational and it can be enjoyed solo. Pay Floyd Garrett's Muscle Car Museum a visit to see 90 ninety cars valued at more than $8 million. You'll see hard-to-find classic models and rare muscle cars.

If you're interested in a more aerodynamic form of transportation, the Tennessee Museum of Aviation should satisfy. This museum offers exhibits of restored vintage aircraft and true-to-design replicas that capture the history of flight.

Cavern Exploration

Sevierville has the Forbidden Caverns, an underground attraction that has ties to both Native American legends and prohibition-era moonshiners. Though the caverns' stories are amusing, the tour itself has plenty to offer in its own right. A visit to the Forbidden Caverns reveals treasures such as hidden grottos and underground streams. Be aware that visitors may feel a bit cramped at times, and you may see a bat or two, but singles who have an interest in cave exploration, geology, eastern Tennessee history or natural beauty will find this attraction engaging.

Shopping

Single shoppers will enjoy Sevierville's variety of stores. The town offers antique malls, flea markets, galleries, boutiques and specialty shops. Those shopping on a budget will especially appreciate the Tanger Outlet Center where they can get designer brands such as Coach and Ralph Lauren at discounted prices.

Zip Line Tour

Thrill-seeking groups of singles who want to do more than hike a mountain may be interested in Foxfire Mountain Adventures. Instead of traveling the terrain on foot, they will have the opportunity to zip over a quarter mile on lines higher than 200 feet. Though this tour is open to both experienced riders and beginners, there are some restrictions. Everyone has to be over 8-years-old, weigh between 75 and 275 lbs and wearing close-toed shoes. Tours will not run during lightning storms or high winds.

Golfing

Sevierville offers golf aficionados top-notch courses such as the award-winning championship course at the Eagle's Landing Golf Club. The course at Eagle's Landing is rated 9 out of 10 in difficulty and 8 out of 10 in scenery by Tennessee Golf, so it's best for those who enjoy a challenge. Not only is there the challenging course, but golfers can visit a variety of sports shops nearby to meet any need that arises.
