What To Look For

Some manufacturers sell strollers with handles that can be adjusted to the parent's height. Although a push handle with adjustable settings is great, it's not enough. The rear axle should be positioned higher from the ground to prevent dads with long strides from kicking it or banging their feet.

Common Pitfalls

If you're tall and looking for a double stroller, choose a tandem one. Some doubles, especially side-by-side umbrella strollers such as the Chico Trevi Twin, have a wheel chassis in the center where you can kick it. In addition, side-by-side strollers tend to be less maneuverable, don't pivot easily and can be cumbersome to manage in and out of the car.

Where To Buy

Phil and Ted's inline strollers are highly rated in terms of adaptability and come in a variety of designs. While the Classic base model has two handlebar positions, the Sport, Explorer and Dash not only have handlebars that adjust in four positions, but have accessories that change with your children like seat design. The Dash has one-handed fold-up and pushing capabilities. Although you can purchase directly from Phil & Ted's, its website offers a store location search engine where you can find a retailer near you. The Chico Cortina was wildly popular among reviewers on the website Tall Baby Stuff. Again, you can purchase directly through Cortina's site or you can purchase it at Babies R Us and Kids R Us.

Cost

Phil and Ted's line is not cheap. The Classic, a base model, as of August 2010, was listed at $349. Top models like the Dash and Vibe were priced as high as $700. On the other hand, the highly rated Graco Tour Duo Stroller was as low as $249. Chico Cortina, also highly rated among tall parents, is designed for one child but the price is reasonable at $169.
