It is imperative that you take your health seriously. Indulging in fast food and getting no exercise will only lead to weight gain and health problems. Utah Department of Health states that 60.1 percent of Utah adults are overweight, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, reports, 23.5 percent of Utah population is obese. Boot Camps can help you lose weight and feel better.
Identification
Weight loss boot camps only follow in the footsteps of basic military training--there are no drill sergeants yelling at your face in weight loss boot camps. Boot camps are very fast paced in nature like a military boot camp. Classes may start as early as five in the morning and there is usually very little to no breaks between exercises. The exercises are usually raw and intense in nature--no fancy equipments, medicine balls, barbells or cords--you work with your own body weight. Exercises focus on the whole body and may incorporate one or a mix of resistance training, cardiovascular exercises, plyometrics, pilates and others.
Benefits
Health benefits include weight loss, increased energy, strength, agility, flexibility and endurance. Boot camp ensures you lose weight within a time frame. Some boot camps also focus on your diet and nutrition for maximum results. Boot camps, very importantly help you reinstate your self--image and self--esteem. As on an August 12 publication of an article titled "Marching but to Different Beats" in The New York Times, the author, Raul A. Reyes ends his piece saying, "Boot Camp has made me a little less caveman, a little more gentleman."

With Utah's health department calling obesity an epidemic, weight loss boot camps are becoming increasingly popular. "Body For Change" offers one hour classes, seven days of the week. Trainers will assess your weight, medical facts and injuries if any, before admitting you in the right class. Classes are interpersonal that cater to your individual needs.
Exercises alternate between resistance training and cardiovascular exercises. Focus is given on nutrition as well. "Fit Club Utah" offers a fun and challenging atmosphere, where exercises focus on strength training, endurance training and core training. Classes may be held outdoors depending on the exercise routine and weather. Trainers will assess your physical and mental ability before you join the classes.
Cost
Classes or sessions are usually one hour and are priced anywhere from $10 per session to $50 per session. Monthly packages can go for $200 to $230 or $175 to $450, depending on the number of sessions and type of fitness program.
Considerations
