Review of Alli

Alli is a personalized holistic weight-loss program. Though centered around specialized weight-loss capsules, Alli also promotes a balanced, low-fat diet and exercise, and encourages healthy habits that will lead to long-term success.

Ingredients

According to Alli's website, the active ingredient in Alli capsules is Orlistat, a non-prescription medication that blocks your body from absorbing a portion of the fat in your food.

Safety

Alli has been the focus of more than 100 clinical studies. It is not a stimulant and does not cause sleeplessness or anxiety. It is not known to have detrimental effects on the heart, liver or brain, and it is the only weight-loss medication approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, as of 2010.

Side Effects

Alli can cause bowel changes, such as urgency, loose stools or stomach pains, especially during the first few weeks, and after eating meals that are high in fat.

What's Included

The Alli program includes 60 Alli weight-loss capsules, a three-capsule carrying case, a reference book with a healthy eating guide, a daily food journal, a calorie and fat counter, as well as an individualized online program.

Availability

Alli starter kits can be purchased from popular retailers, including Target, Sam's Club, Costco, CVS, Wal-Mart and GNC. Contact individual retailers to find out about online purchasing.
