Minnesota Campgrounds on Lakes

With over 10,000 lakes throughout the state, Minnesota is known as the "Land of Lakes" for good reason. Not surprisingly there are a large number of campgrounds centered on lakes and rivers in Minnesota. Fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking and canoeing are just a few of the activities you can enjoy on Minnesota waters.

Crow Wing Lake Campground

Two hours north of the Twin Cities, Crow Wing Lake Campground is located on beautiful Crow Wing Lake. This campground offers lakeside campsites, full hookups for RV's, tent sites and a heated pool and playground area. Canoes, kayaks, paddleboats and motorboats are available for rental for some fun on the lake.

Flying Goose Campground

Located in southern Minnesota, Flying Goose Campground is located on Lake Imogene, which has a sandy beach with areas for swimming. Lake view sites, full hookups and a RV store that carries supplies and snacks are all part of this campgrounds charm. An extensive trail system with paved, off-road, wooded and lakeside trails is readily available to campers in Fairmont, Minnesota only a few minutes drive away.

Highview Campground and RV Park

This campground is located on Lake Ossawinnamakee, north of Brainerd Minnesota. Lake Ossawinnamakee is a great lake for fishing, tubing and boating. Highview Campground and RV Park offers lakeside seasonal sites and grassy RV sites surrounded by trees for privacy. Pelican Lake and Lake Edwards are also within driving distance from Highview Campground.

Boundary Waters Canoe Area

In northeastern Minnesota is the most visited wilderness area in the country--The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. This area consists of over 1,500 miles of canoe routes on rivers and lakes. There are approximately 2,000 different camping sites around the area. It is popular for visitors to go on multi-day canoe trips and stop to camp overnight.

Roberds Lake Resort and Campground

The majority of Minnesota's lakes are in the central and northern part of the state. Roberds Lake Resort and Campground is located on Roberds Lake in southeastern Minnesota. This lake resort and campground offers full hookup RV sites, tenting sites and cabins to rent. Boating and fishing are popular activities on this lake and it is well stocked with walleye, bass, panfish, bullheads and northerns.
