Both seemingly unsanitary and embarrassing all at the same time, sweat stains can cause big problems for a person. These stains can occur and not even be noticed until the end of the day. Sweat stains don't have to mean the end of your favorite T-shirt. There are numerous ways to eliminate these stains with minimal time and effort. When all is said and done, sweat stains can be removed as though they were never there at all.
Step 1
Make a paste out of baking soda and water and apply it to the stain with an old toothbrush. Gently scrub the stain to work the paste into the fibers and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes before laundering.
Step 2
Apply hair shampoo to the stain and gently scrub it in with a clean cloth. Allow the shampoo to sit on the stain for at least 10 minutes before washing the garment.
Step 3
Make a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water and apply it to the stain. Allow the area to soak for 30 minutes before laundering the shirt.
Step 4
Mix 3 percent hydrogen peroxide and water in equal parts and saturate the area with it. Launder the garment as usual.
Step 5
Apply an oxygenated liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain. Once the detergent has been on the stain for at least 30 minutes, launder the shirt as usual.
