Orlando has gained fame for being one of the family entertainment capitals of the world. But thousands of people call this city home, and some of these residents are singles looking for fun activities. Whether you want to join a group of other singles or search for a relationship, this region has multiple activities you can enjoy.

Amusement Parks

Disney World---and the later additions---turned this city from a sleepy backwater to a thriving city, and it's hard to talk about entertainment options here for any demographic without mentioning the parks. Far from being just for kids, Disney, Sea World and the Universal Parks have a large number of attractions for single adults, from rides to high-end restaurants, shows and nightclubs. Singles might not necessarily make a love connection while on "It's a Small World," but the amusement parks in Orlando are an exciting way to spend a day with other singles. Locals can take advantage of slow times for a daytrip.

Dancing

Several dance outfits in Orlando offer classes for beginner and casual dancers. Some of these establishments offer evenings for beginners to come out and get their feet wet, especially in the swing, salsa and ballroom categories. Singles can attend these events with a friend, honing their skills so they can really show off when they're out at the nightspots. School like Flyin' Footwork Productions offer classes in a variety of dances, such as the Lindy Hop and Charleston, and offer both group and private lessons. Students learn strong foundation steps and technique. Those looking for a more "rustic" partner can even take part in square dancing events, put on by the Orlando Single Square Dance Club, which meets weekly.

Outdoor Leisure Activities

Orlando's climate allows for beautiful and lush foliage, and there are many peaceful and relaxing outdoor activities where singles can scout for like-minded potential partners. There are outdoor gardens, such as the Harry P. Leu Gardens, with the largest rose garden in Florida, a butterfly garden and a 2-acre tropical steam garden, and parks, such as Lake Eola, a downtown park offering paddle boats and a walking path around the lake. Of course, the famous Gatorland is a favorite among locals and tourists, having existed in Orlando since pre-Disney times.

Dining

The city offers a variety of dining options, including several that provide fun environments for groups of singles. Bahama Breeze has a tropical theme with live music groups, and the Universal City Walk has a wide variety of dining establishments, including Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. There are several dinner theater options, including Sleuth's Mystery Dinner Theater and Medieval Times. Disney World alone has restaurants ranging from budget to extravagant.

Music and Night Clubs

The city has a vital nightlife scene, with establishments offering a variety of entertainment options. Disney World has the House of Blues, with a rotating calendar of performers, and Raglan Road, with Irish music, at its Downtown Disney West Side, and vibrant clubs like Café Rix at Coronado Springs Resort. Several clubs in the city, such as Tabu and Antigua, are specifically designated as singles' clubs, where men and women put on their best and try to attract attention and meet Mr. or Mrs. Right.
