Genital warts are caused by a strain of the human papillomavirus, known as HPV, which is a sexually transmitted disease, according to "Sexually Transmitted Diseases." Genital warts often come and go in outbreaks, according to "Women's Gynecological Health." Both men and women can become infected with HPV and develop genital warts, according to "Foundations and Adult Health Nursing." Though home remedies are available for genital warts, home remedies should not be used in place of medical care. See your physician prior to treating your genital warts at home.
Step 1
Dilute 2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar with 2 tbsp. water
Step 2
Saturate a cotton swab with the diluted apple cider vinegar.
Step 3
Dab the cotton swab on a single wart, then discard the cotton swab. Use a new cotton swab for each wart. According to "Foundations and Adult Health Nursing," reusing the cotton swab can spread the HPV, making the warts multiply.
Step 4
Continue to treat your genital warts daily with apple cider vinegar until the warts turn black and scab over. According to "Sexually Transmitted Diseases," the acidity in the apple cider vinegar will weaken the HPV, causing the warts to stop reproducing and deaden the skin forming the warts, which is the cause for the skin turning black. Shortly after the scabs form, the warts will disappear.
