When you meet someone, the first thing they notice about you is your face. Whether they are looking at your mouth, eyes or nose, the object of focus is the face. Because of this, you want your fact to look as good as possible. This doesn't mean a chubby face or skinny face. It means a face that contains just the right amount of suppleness. For most people, weight loss or gain can be seen in the face before the rest of the body. There are some exercises that you can perform to help you lose weight in your face.
The Open Face
The open face exercise, which is also known as the free your tongue exercise, is a yoga maneuver that flushes the toxins from your face by engaging all of your facial muscles. To begin, stand or sit with your shoulders over your hips and away from the ears. You should also be standing or sitting in neutral spinal alignment. Relax your face and take a deep breath in. When you exhale, open your mouth as far as possible, stick your tongue out and hold the position for 1 minute. Take another deep breath in and return your face to a neutral position. Perform the movements 3 to 5 times each day.
Cheek Fat Flattener
Performing the cheek fat flattener exercise can help reduce the amount of fat in your cheeks, according to the Face Fitness Center. To perform the exercise, slightly fill your cheeks up with air and squeeze your lips together as though you are going to whistle. Keep your lips and cheeks in this position for 10 seconds. While holding the air inside your cheeks and keeping your lips tightly pressed, move all of the air in your mouth into your right cheek. Hold the air in this cheek for 10 seconds before pushing the air into the left cheek, again holding this position for another 10 seconds. Repeat at least 5 times daily on each side of your face.
Lip Hold
The Ohio State University Medical Center states that performing the lip hold exercise will not only help you tone your cheeks, but it will also strengthen the muscles around your lips. Take an ice-pop stick or any other flat object and place it between your lips while clinching your teeth tightly. Tense up your lips around the stick to prevent it from falling out of your mouth. Hold the stick in your mouth for a minimum of 1 minute. For the best results, you should leave the stick in your mouth as long as possible. Once the exercise becomes too easy, begin moving your mouth from side to side while the stick is in place.
