Apples, berries and citrus fruits contain fiber and antioxidants to help protect cells from dangerous free radicals in the body.
Oatmeal
Whole grains are low in fat and take longer for your body to digest, helping to regulate blood sugar levels and keep you feeling fuller for longer. According to the University of North Florida Department of Health Promotion, a single bowl of oatmeal each day can help reduce cholesterol by up to 2.3 percent.
Low-Fat Yogurt
The American Council on Exercise recommends eating two to three servings of dairy products each day. Yogurt not only provides your body with calcium for strong bones, it may help you lose weight around your middle, according to Fitness Magazine. Mix low-fat, unsweetened yogurt with oatmeal and berries for a fiber-rich snack or meal.
