Although Flintstone brand vitamin supplements are marketed towards children, they can also be good for adults. In fact, the labels on these supplements often have dosing instructions for adults. Before taking any sort of supplement, make sure to follow the dosing directions to avoid accidentally consuming too much of any vitamin.

Benefits for Adults

Flintstone brand vitamins are generally marketed to children, as they are flavored to be more palatable and are also in the shape of cartoon characters. Although children have somewhat different vitamin requirements than adults, the vitamins that promote good health in children are also important for adults. To reflect this, the nutrition label for Flintstones Complete Chewable Vitamins notes that both children over the age of 4 and adults should consume one vitamin tablet each day.

Vitamin Risks

Although Flintstones vitamins and other vitamin supplements are generally safe, they can be dangerous in the event of an overdose. The most serious risks come from an overdose of iron or calcium, notes MedlinePlus. However, Flintstones vitamins do not contain large amounts of calcium. Always follow the instructions on vitamin supplement labels and talk to your doctor before beginning any new supplement.
