The Golf Handicap Indexing Network (GHIN) is scoring software approved by the United States Golf Association (USGA) that allows you to electronically log and route your handicap to any golf course in the network. Based on slope index, GHIN calculates an accurate handicap designed to allow golfers of all levels to compete in a level playing field at any course in the network. All 850 members of the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) use the GHIN system.
Walt Disney World Resort Golf, Orlando
Not only is Orlando, Florida, home to Walt Disney World, but Walt Disney World is home to some of the finest GHIN golf courses in Florida. Inside the resort are five courses: The Magnolia, the Palm, Osprey Ridge, Lake Buena Vista and Oak Trial. The Magnolia course has a four-star rating from "Golf Digest" and is home to the Children's Miracle Network Classic, one of the tournaments on the Professional Golf Association (PGA) tour. All five courses are beautifully landscaped and offer play for golfers of all levels.
Quail West, Naples
Quail West is an exclusive private golf community that offers two 18-hole courses designed by Arthur Hill, The Lakes and The Preserves. Both courses work with the beauty of Naples by incorporating natural waterways and preserves. Located between the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Everglades, Quail West offers a beautiful, world-class golfing experience. Quail West is in the GHIN network, allowing members and guests to access handicap data and post scores for all play on both courses.
Pelican Preserve, Fort Myers
In Fort Myers, GHIN handicapped golfers can enjoy any of Pelican Preserve's three 9-hole courses: Ibis, Heron and Egret. All courses are open to the public, with club membership available to Pelican Preserve residents. All 27 holes are surrounded by natural preserves and are accentuated with abundant water and grass hallow hazards along striking fairways that weave in and out of the residential community. Rated as a championship course, Pelican Preserve offers golf for all levels of play.
Key West Golf Club, Key West
The southernmost golf course in the United States can be found in the Florida Keys. FSGA member Key West Golf Club is a newly renovated Rees Jones designed 18-hole public course that is part of the GHIN network. Located at the entrance to the island, also known as the Gateway to the Caribbean, the course covers 200 acres of natural Florida Keys foliage, including stately palms and dense mangroves. Incorporating natural and wildlife preserves, Key West Golf Club is a slice of heaven for any level of golfer.
LPGA International, Daytona Beach
While Daytona may be the hot spot for NASCAR racing, Daytona Beach boasts the LPGA International champion golf club--the home course of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). Its two courses, Champions and Legends, are both GHIN indexed and offer two distinct golfing experiences. The Champions course offers a links-style Rees Jones design with natural marshes and strategic mounding. The Legends course designed by Arthur Hill is a classic, 72-par layout with natural wetlands and narrow pine corridors.
