Although it is fashionable for men to style their facial hair in different patterns and designs, it can also be a nuisance as well. If you want to remove your facial hair, you have various treatment options to choose from. In most cases, you can remove your facial hair at home with commercially available products.

Step 1

Trim your facial hair down with scissors or electrical shears and shave the rest off. Run the shears close to your skin and remove as much hair as possible. Wash your face with warm water and lather on shaving cream. Grab a razor blade and run it across your face in short, steady strokes. Wash the blade off every three or four strokes to remove debris and continue until you've removed all the hair.

Step 2

Purchase a home waxing kit to rip the hair out by the roots. Heat the wax for as long as the manufacturer recommends and apply it to your skin in the direction of hair growth with the applicator tool. Let it set up until it is sticky and flatten out the durable cloth strip over top of it. Grab the corner of the strip and pull down forcefully. Repeat in all areas where you want hair removed.

Step 3

Soften the hair on your face with a warm wash cloth and dissolve it with a depilatory. Apply the cream to your face and let it set up for as long as the manufacturer recommends. Place a dampened wash cloth on your face, apply adequate pressure and wipe the hair off. Repeat in all areas where you want removal.

Step 4

Pull the hair out with a pair of angled tweezers. Grip a single hair close to the skin and pull straight out in a steady motion. Repeat in all areas where you want hair removed. Do not yank quickly as this can cause the hair to break off.

Step 5

Make an appointment with an electrologist to have the hair permanently removed. With electrolysis, a small needle gets inserted into each hair follicle and a current of electricity gets sent to the tip. The root gets zapped and dies, and the hair ends up falling out.

Tips and Warnings

  • Before you wax your hair, trim it down with the scissors or electric shears. Make sure you use a depilatory cream that is designed for the face. Keep it out of your eyes, mouth and any open wounds.
