MonaVie is a series of products offered by a beverage company with headquarters in South Jordan, Utah. According to the company's website, MonaVie features a blend of fruit juices, including acai berry. There has been some criticism regarding the products from MonaVie, especially from the Food and Drug Administration, which focuses more on the advertising than the actual benefits of the fruit drinks. MonaVie claims to have scientific proof that their juice contains antioxidants that improve overall health. There are no clinical data to support MonaVie juice to treat Candida infections. Candida is yeast that can be spread through sexual contact. Taking MonaVie daily for treatment of Candida infections is probably not going to work to cure the infection by itself. You will still need to see a doctor for medical treatment.
Step 1
Purchase one or two bottles of MonaVie juice. The company offers as many as seven varieties of its blend. Each appears to have acai berry juice and other types of fruit. Making your selection may depend on taste. The juice comes color coded in wine-like packaging. For instance, a green top indicates MonaVie Active. Some products, such as MonaVie E Lite, have fewer calories.
Step 2
Substitute the MonaVie juice for your regular juice drinks. If you drink a glass of orange juice each morning, switch it for a glass of MonaVie. Try to incorporate at least one glass a day. If you are watching your calorie count, drink the lite formula. Read the label to record the calories of the juice you drink each day.
Step 3
Drink one glass as a snack. If you tend to crave sweats between meals, replace that candy or fruit bar with a small glass of MonaVie juice. MonoVie juice may be a healthier choice than a candy bar.
Tips and Warnings
- Candida is a potentially serious infection. You cannot treat it with an herbal drink or fruit blend. MonaVie does not mention any of its products as possible treatment for this yeast infection. However, if MonaVie does contain antioxidants, it may stimulant the immune system and help fight illness.
- If you have genital itching, burning during urination or a discharge that might be associated with a yeast infection, you need to see a doctor for evaluation and treatment. Do not replace medical treatment with MonaVie juice drinks. If you suspect you have a Candida infection, do not have unprotected sex until your doctor clears you of the illness whether you or your partner drink MonaVie juice or not.
