Sagging breasts are a reality for many women after giving birth or breastfeeding and as they age. As the tissues of the breast age, they loose their ability to retain their original shape, and gravity draws them downward. While you will not return your breasts to their original placement without invasive and expensive surgery, there are natural ways to ensure that you breasts stay perky for as long as possible.

Step 1

Exercise regularly. Include chest-targeting exercise in your daily routine to lend more structure to the musculature underneath the breast tissues. Push-ups are an effective chest-strengthening exercise. To perform a push-up, start by lying on your stomach or on all fours. Press the chest up, drawing in the core muscles, and release the chest back down to the floor with control. Repeat 10 or more times per day.

Step 2

Practice press-ups against the wall. You do not need expensive gym equipment to work your chest muscles effectively. To perform a wall press-up, stand 1 foot away from a wall and place your hands on the wall. The hands should be 2 feet away from each other and fingertips facing upwards. Bend the elbows to a 90-degree angle as you bring your chest towards the wall. Press back to starting position and repeat at least 10 times.

Step 3

Perform chest fly exercises. Lie on a weight bench or exercise ball with one dumbbell on either side of you. Start with 5- to 10-lb weights. With the dumbbells in either hand, open the arms out to the sides until the elbows are below the shoulders. Bring both hands together above the head and extend the arms. Repeat 12 to 15 times.

Tips and Warnings

  • Watch your posture. Bad posture can give breasts the appearance of further sagging, especially if the back and shoulders are rounded forwards. Poor posture moves the breasts further towards the floor. Remedy poor posture by standing up tall and drawing the shoulders up and back. Always wear a sports bra when exercising.
