Lake Haven Retreat

Lake Haven Retreat located 9 miles from downtown at 1951 W. Edgewood Ave. in Indianapolis, has 30/50-amp pull-through sites, a 20-acre stocked lake, along with laundry facilities, phone/high speed Internet capabilities, a recreation hall, restrooms and shower house for ease of use. At Lake Haven Retreat you can also bring the family pet.

INDY Lake

The second location on our list, INDY Lake, is 8 miles from downtown located at 4001 West Southport Road, in Indianapolis. INDY Lake is open year-round and has full service hook-ups, amenities such as high-speed WiFi, satellite, laundry, private shower facilities. Located in a quiet, secure, area with remote gates, a clean environment, pet friendly and "specializing in hospitality." You will also find a snack bar/shop and a fee service for on-site motorcoach parking.

Indiana State Fairgrounds Campsites

Indiana State Fairgrounds Campsites just 4.8 miles from downtown Indianapolis has 170 camping sites found in central Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The Indiana State Fairgrounds campsites are open all year round with features such as paved pads for easier hook-up, 30-amp wattage, water hook-up and sewage hook-up, pay phones, a picnic shelter, a full playground, is handicapped accessible, and the family pet is allowed.

Indianapolis KOA

Indianapolis KOA is found 14 miles from downtown at 5896 West 200 North in Greenfield. You can find the Indianapolis KOA at the Interstate 70 and Mt. Comfort Road, exit 96. KOA is a 240-site campground with clean facilities, a swimming pool, playground, propane available, large recreation and game hall for the family or spending time with a large group of friends. Indianapolis KOA is "family owned and operated with smiles all the time." You can also stop in their gift shop and pick up souvenirs or a gift for someone special.

Visit Indianapolis, Indiana

While you are in Indianapolis in your RV why not visit some of the great attractions nearby, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art is a great place to start. The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art has one the best art collections around. It is open Mon. to Sat., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m. with public tours on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day. Hours may vary on holidays and days when downtown events restrict traffic on streets near the museum.
You could also visit the Indianapolis Zoo while there, where you will find more than 350 different animal species on 70 acres of ground. The zoo has live shark and dolphin exhibits and the 3.3-acre White River Gardens. It is open May 28 through Oct. 31 with special events for the Holidays.
