The Atkins diet is designed to help you lose weight by limiting the amount of sugar and carbohydrates that you consume, while focusing on the amount of protein and fats that you can consume. There are four phases to the Atkins diet plan; the first phase is the most limited in regard to how much carbohydrates and sugars you can consume. As the diet continues, you can increase your allowance of sugars and carbs until you've reached your goal weight, at which point you will continue the same lifestyle.

Breakfast Foods

You can consume bacon, ham, turkey and pork. With this in mind for breakfast choices, you could have hard-boiled eggs, deviled eggs or scrambled eggs with a side of bacon. You could also choose an omelet with bacon or ham with an ounce of cheddar or mozzarella cheese. To make an omelet even tastier, you can add onion, green peppers or mushrooms, as all of these foods are allowed, according to the Atkins diet website. As far as beverages, you can opt for water, unsweetened tea, diet soda or plain herbal tea of any flavor. If your beverage, such as diet soda, has carbohydrates, be sure to note how many carbs you consume.

Lunch Ideas

For lunch, you can have a Caesar salad with poached salmon, according to MayoClinic.com. You may also opt for a salad with iceberg or romaine lettuce, crumbled bacon, grated cheese and radishes, peppers, tomato, onion or olives. These are just quick lunch solutions for when you're on the go or at work. If you have time to cook and prepare your lunch, you could opt for a grilled chicken breast that's lightly seasoned with garlic, with a side of broccoli or cauliflower and a beverage such as water, unsweetened tea or black coffee.

Dinner Options

On the Atkins diet, you can have all fish, fowl, shellfish and meat, so your dinner options are unlimited. The Atkins website promotes the use of olive oil to sauté your meat while cooking. Vegetables such as cabbage, artichokes, brussels sprouts, eggplant, peas and collard greens are all acceptable. You may have other side dishes as long as you're within your daily allowance of carbohydrates, according to MayoClinic.com.
