Setting a sports timer stopwatch is typically a quick and easy process, according to the book "Watches Adjustment And Repair: A Practical Handbook On Modern Watches," by F.J. Camm.
According to Dan Gendron's book "It's TIME to Make MORE Money with Watch Repairs," various makes and models of watches function slightly differently, but the basic functions are typically extremely similar.
Step 1
Power on the stopwatch. Many stopwatches are powered on with an on/off button, but some stopwatches will turn on when any button is pressed.
Step 2
Press the "start" button to start the timer.
Step 3
Stop the timer at the time you desire by pressing the "stop" button. If a "stop" button is not readily apparent, check to see if the "start" button is a "start/stop" button and serves to both stop and start the timer.
Step 4
Press the "reset" button to return the stopwatch's clock to zero. This readies the stopwatch to be used again.
