According to MayoClinic.com, the most common medical treatments for wrinkles and frown lines include treatments like topical retinoids, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, laser treatments and tissue fillers. However, there are some natural remedies to help stop frown lines in their tracks according to Susan E. Worwood, author of "Essential Aromatherapy: A Pocket Guide to Essential Oils and Aromatherapy," and Colleen Kaye Dodt, author of "The Essential Oils Book: Creating Personal Blends for Mind & Body."
Essential Oil Blend for Frown Lines
Step 1
Combine ½ tsp. carrot seed essential oil, ½ tsp. elemi essential oil, ½ tsp. jasmine essential oil, ½ tsp. geranium essential oil, ½ tsp. true lavender essential oil, ½ tsp. mandarin essential oil, ¼ tsp. mimosa essential oil, ¼ tsp. rose essential oil and 1 cup jojoba oil in a small container with a tight-fitting top.
Step 2
Cover the container and shake it vigorously for 10 seconds to thoroughly combine the contents.
Step 3
Pour two teaspoons of the mixture onto your clean fingertips. Gently massage the mixture onto the area of skin being treated in an outward motion away from the center of your face.
Step 4
Leave the essential oil mixture on your skin for 10 minutes without rinsing it off.
Step 5
Wash your skin with lukewarm water and a gentle facial cleanser. Pat your skin dry and apply a light moisturizer.
Step 6
Use this treatment once per day in the evening right before bed. Stop using the mixture if it causes redness, irritation or itching.
