There is no surefire way to grow hair, because development is a cycle. As one hair falls out, another grows and replaces it. However, there are health and genetic factors that influence hair growth. For example, dry scalp may delay the emergence of a hair from the follicle or even destroy it. Hair tonic with an essential oil may stimulate circulation and moisturize the scalp to speed up hair replacement. If you add this treatment to a healthy lifestyle, you might find your hair becomes slightly thicker with a fuller appearance.

Step 1

Purchase a carrier oil and rosemary oil at a health-food store. Carrier oils are vegetable-based products that keep pure essential oils from irritating skin. Good choices for carrier oils include olive, coconut, sweet almond or jojoba oil.

Step 2

Pour 1 to 3 tbsp. of the carrier oil into a bowl and warm the oil in the microwave for 10 seconds. You want oil warm to the touch but not scalding. If oil is too hot, let it sit for a minute to cool.

Step 3

Add 2 to 5 drops of the essential rosemary oil to the warm carrier oil. Stir the mixture with your finger until the two oils blend.

Step 4

Dip your fingers into the oil compound. Massage the oil onto your scalp with your fingers while hair is dry. Cover all the surface area of your scalp thoroughly with oil.

Step 5

Move your oil-coated fingers down the hair shafts to saturate hair from root to tip. This will moisturize hair and keep it healthy.

Step 6

Warm a towel for 10 to 30 seconds in the clothes dryer. Wrap the warm towel around your head to cover the hair. Let the oil and towel sit for 45 minutes to one hour.

Step 7

Wash the oil out of your hair with cool water. If necessary, shampoo and condition hair normally. Without shampooing, your hair may contain oil residue that dulls it.

Step 8

Repeat the process at least once a month. If you prefer, you can apply the tonic once a week.
