Sagging skin below your chin is not only unsightly, it belies your true age and youthful spirit. As we age our skin loosens and loses its elasticity, becoming saggy due to sun exposure and other environmental stresses. Exercises can stimulate blood flow to your facial muscles to help you improve your skin's elasticity and keep you looking young. Always check with your doctor to be sure any exercise program is right for your condition.

Jowl Lift

This exercise is recommended by Carolyn Cleaves, the founder of the website Carolyn's Facial Fitness, and is performed by holding the four fingers of your hand over your jaw bone. From this position, tilt your head toward the rear so that you are looking toward the ceiling. Curl your bottom lip up and over your upper lip to tighten the skin around your neck and jaw. Turn your head toward the side your hand is on and contract the muscles in your cheek while closing the eye on the side being exercised while using your fingers to pull your skin across your jaw. Cleaves recommends that you perform five repetitions of this exercise on both sides of your jaw.

Tongue Press

The tongue pressing exercise, recommended by Thomas Hagerty of Shape Your Face, can be performed while seated or standing. Lift your head toward the ceiling while pressing your tongue into the roof of your mouth to tighten the muscles located at the floor of your mouth and in front of your neck. Hold this position and open your jaw while keeping your lips sealed and your tongue pressed against the top of your mouth. Repeat as often as you like or as directed by your doctor.

Skin Tightening Exercise

From a seated position, tilt your head back as if you were looking at something on the ceiling and close your mouth. Move your bottom lip over your upper lip as far as it will go and hold this position for about 10 seconds, according to FitnessHealthZone. The website recommends that you perform 10 repetitions of this exercise.
