Juicing is the practice of consuming homemade fruit and vegetable juice as a way to treat disease or improve your overall health. According to health site Mercola, juicing is an ideal way to consume vegetables because it allows you to introduce a wider variety of items into your diet. This is especially true if you normally eat the same veggies day after day.

Step 1

Drink a couple of glasses of vegetable juice every day. You can have vegetable juice as a replacement for your usual drinks or drink a glass for breakfast. Green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale are especially high in fiber, which can help lower cholesterol, according to The Diet Channel.

Step 2

Drink a glass of pomegranate juice every day. According to MayoClinic.com, pomegranate juice can slow down the buildup of cholesterol in your arteries. Don't add sugar to the juice. Don't drink pomegranate juice if you're taking high-blood pressure medication unless you have your doctor's permission as the juice can interact with the drug.

Step 3

Add some fresh, grated ginger to the mix. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, ginger might help prevent blood clotting while lowering cholesterol. This can lead to a lower risk for heart disease and heart attacks or strokes.

Step 4

Drink the whole fruit or vegetable. Don't put the juice through a strainer. Straining the juices will get rid of the pulp, which contains the largest amount of fiber. If drinking thick juice is not to your taste, add lots of ice and mix well in a blender. You'll end up with something like a smoothie, which will hide the pulp texture well.
