Facial hair starts to grow in men right around puberty. It grows in dark and is easily noticeable by the human eye. Women are also prone to experience facial hair growth, but not until they get older. Although the amount growth is still not that of a man's, it can be difficult to deal with when it appears. To get rid of this hair, several approaches can be taken. Some may be tried from home and others have to be done professionally.
Step 1
Get a wax treatment. This is a process where hot wax is applied to your face with an applicator. The wax sets up and a strong piece of fabric is then smoothed across it. It is then ripped off in a fast motion, taking the wax and hair with it. You can get this done in a salon or spa, or you can get a home kit.
Step 2
Use a depilatory. To use a depilatory cream, moisten a wash cloth and dampen your face. Apply the cream and let it set up for as long as it is recommended by the manufacturer. Take the wash cloth and wipe off the cream and hair. Use some pressure when you wipe the hair off. Depilatory creams work by breaking down the protein in hair called "keratin." This causes the hair to become weak and easily fall out.
Step 3
Get zapped with electricity. Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal system that has to be done professionally. A small needle gets inserted into hair follicles and an electrical current of energy then gets sent to the tip. The hair follicle gets zapped, the hair falls out and it does not grow back.
Step 4
Pull the hair out. Tweezers can be used to pull out hairs on your face. Place the tweezers as close to the root as possible. Pull the hair straight out at a smooth pace instead of just yanking it. This can cause it to break off.
Step 5
Get a laser treatment done. Laser hair removal uses a high-powered beam of laser light. It gets shot down on the skin and it targets the melanin. This is what gives hair its color. The hair follicle gets destroyed when the light beam hits it and the hair then falls out.
