The boot refers to the shoe-like component of inline skates. The skater fastens the boot to his feet using the laces or safety straps featured on the boot. Young inline skaters often have to replace the inline skate boot as their foot continues to grow. Replacing just the boot of the inline skate allows the owner to save money by not having to purchase a new pair of skates. The skater can adjust the boot size of the inline skates with the help from a few simple tools.

Step 1

Stretch the tape measure from your big toe to the back of your heel to determine your boot size. Purchase an appropriately sized pair of boots that correspond with the wheel frames of your old boots. Place your old inline skates upside down onto a flat surface.

Step 2

Locate the wheel frames attached to the bottom of the boots that hold the wheels. Remove the wheels from the frame by loosening the bolts with the Allen wrench. Lift the wheels away from the frame to expose the screws that secure the frame to the bottom of the boot.

Step 3

Detach the wheel frames from the bottom of your old boots by removing the screws with the screwdriver. Flip your new boots upside down onto the flat surface. Align the wheel frames into the appropriate position. Fasten the wheel frames to your new boots by tightening the screws into the corresponding holes.

Step 4

Place the wheels back into the wheel frame housings and tighten the bolts with the Allen wrench. Flip your newly adjusted inline skates right side up. Insert your feet into the boots to ensure a comfortable fit. Skate slowly to guarantee the wheels and wheel frames have been safely fastened to your new boots.
