One of the best parts of being a kid is all of the fun that you have at birthday parties. If you are hosting a birthday party for your soon to be 10-year-old, finding the perfect set of games is important. You want to choose games that are challenging and that will keep the children at the party entertained. By taking the time to choose the right games, you can be sure to have an exciting party that is unforgettable.
The Artist
This game will definitely bring out the artist in every child and get the party laughing. Each child will get the opportunity to try to draw a picture while blindfolded. You will need a large sheet of drawing paper, some markers and a blindfold. Attach the sheet of paper to the wall at the child's height, and blindfold her. You will instruct her to draw a picture of a house. To make it even more exciting, other children will tell the artist additional things to add to the picture. The end result will be very funny as it will most likely not look anything like a house.
Sponge Relay Race
Get the party moving by have a relay race to see who can fill up buckets with water the fastest. Begin by dividing the party guests into two teams. Get four buckets, two of which should be larger to fill with water. Place the two empty, smaller buckets at the starting line for each team, and the two larger buckets filled with water about 30 feet away. Leave ample amount of space in between the buckets to give each team enough room to run. Give each team member a sponge. Instruct one member from each team to run to to the bucket filled with water, dip the sponge in the water, race back to the empty bucket and squeeze out as much water as possible. Each member will get a turn until the winning team has filled up the bucket with water. To make the game a little harder, instruct the children to race backwards.
Marshmallow Tower
Building a marshmallow tower may sound easy, but can prove to be a bit of a challenge. Divide the party guests into two groups. Supply each group with a bag of small marshmallows and a box of toothpicks. Teams will compete with each other to see who can build the tallest marshmallow tower in five minutes. This game is sure to bring out the competitive side in all of the children.
