Swimming is one of the most prevalent forms of aerobic exercise, and it is an excellent activity for those who want to get and stay fit, according to U.S. Master Swimming. Many take to the pool for their fitness fix and swim laps or take water aerobics, because the water is an impact-free environment. When you're exercising in the pool, wearing the right swimsuit will help you look and perform your best.

Speedo Piped Maillot

The Speedo Piped Maillot is a women's swimsuit from Speedo's aquatic fitness line with styling similar to the company's competitive suits. The Maillot is available in either black or blue, both with white piping trim along the shoulder straps. The suit's material is a blend, constructed equally from polyester and PBT, which is completely resistant to chlorine. Speedo says the Endurance+ material will last 20 times longer than swimsuits made of spandex. The material provides compression at your core, creating a slimming, conservative yet flattering fit. The built-in cups offers needed support or shaping. The Speedo Piped Maillot has an estimated retail price of $65.60 as of fall 2010.

TYR Polyester Fitness Tank

The TYR Polyester Fitness Tank is well suited for either swimming laps or water aerobics. The TYR Fitness Tank is available in four colors, with the stylish TYR logo placed on the hip. The suit's material is 53 percent polyester, with the balance made from PBT. The TYR suit provides frontal lining for modesty, with hidden support for the top of the suit. The TYR Fitness Tank has a contemporary leg line and tummy control for a flattering fit. The TYR Polyester Fitness Tank has an estimated retail price of $54.95 as of fall 2010.

Nike Swim PowerBack Fitness Tank

The Nike Swim PowerBack Fitness Tank is a suit designed for fitness swimming, water aerobics or recreational fun. Nike says its Powerback Fitness Tank offers an athletic style with coverage and support in the fit, to give you confidence in and out of the water. The material is chlorine resistant polyester to reduce color fade while retaining the athletic shape. The sewn-in bra cups provide support. The added tummy control and modesty lining in the front of the suit add to your confidence on deck, or in the water. The Nike Swim Powerback Fitness Tank comes in five colors, and has an estimated retail price of $59.95 as of fall 2010.
