RV Parks in Connecticut

The state of Connecticut is located along the Long Island Sound. It is 5,018 square miles and has a population of over 3 million. Popular tourist attractions are the restored whaling village, Mystic Seaport and Dinosaur State Park. Connecticut averages one to two earthquakes annually, according to the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. Although many tourists travel during the summer, be aware that hurricane season is from June 1 to November 30, so a springtime visit might be best.

Barkhamsted

White Pines Campsites provides 209 sites with hookups and features wireless service, a swimming pool, cafe, camping store as well as RV supplies and storage. Amenities include a beach volleyball court, arcade, playground and an RC track. Water activities at the nearby Barkhamsted Reservoir and Beaver Brook include fishing, tubing and riding on a paddle boat.

Salem

Witch Meadow Lake Family Campground features 140 acres of wooded areas featuring a 14-acre lake, campground store, tennis courts, food service, recreation hall, adult lounge, lending library and laundry facilities. Water sports in the 14-acre freshwater lake include swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing and pedal boating. The campsite offers various sports to play and a nine-hole championship golf course.

Preston

Hidden Acres Family Campground is located on the Quinebaug River and is close to Mystic Aquarium, Gillettes Castle and Connecticut Wineries. Features of the campground include cabins, a general store, laundry facilities, showers, flush toilets and a dumping station. Enjoy swimming in the pool or playing sports like volleyball and basketball. The campground offers a craft shop, hayrides, fire engine rides, bingo, horseshoes, shuffleboard and fishing. A playground and animal pen are available for the kids.

Old Mystic

Seaport RV Resort is located off the shores of Old Mystic and is near U.S.S. Nautilus Museum, Mystic Seaport and casinos. The campground is pet-friendly and features restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, LP gas, a grocery store and a dumping station. Amenities include free WiFi, recreation room, arcade and live entertainment. Enjoy outdoor recreation such as swimming, catch-and-release fishing, volleyball, horseshoes and miniature golf. The park also has a playground for the kids.

Norwich

Strawberry Park is 160 acres of wooded campsites in southeastern Connecticut. In addition to campsites, the park also offers RV trailers, models and log cabin rentals as well as pet-friendly rentals. Features include full hookups, 50 amp electric service, dumping stations, on-site septic removal, restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, cable, wireless Internet, picnic areas and a fireplace. Amenities include three swimming pools, two whirlpool spas, a recreation center, an arcade, a grill and a creamery. Visitors to Strawberry Park enjoy outdoor activities such as horseback riding, softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, horseshoes, washer toss, shuffleboard and disc golf. The campground has a fenced pet park; however, pets must be transported by vehicle or golf cart.
