Aloe vera gel can soothe, moisturize and rejuvenate the skin. Aloe vera juice, which is made from the fillet of the aloe vera leaf, can be used to treat the inside of your body as well. Take aloe vera juice as recommended, and do not drink it if you have kidney or heart disease or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Aloe vera juice is growing in popularity, although research is still being done to determine aloe vera juice's health uses.

Detoxification

Aloe vera contains carrisyn, which first was marketed by Carrington Laboratories in 1985, according to "Texas Monthly" in 1991. The laboratory discovered that carrisyn can aid production of blood cells that fight infection, strengthening the immune system. Aloe vera juice is also high in antioxidants, which fight free radicals that damage the body on a cellular level.

Laxative

Mayoclinic.com states there is evidence that supports the laxative properties of aloe vera for relieving constipation. Constipation can be uncomfortable, embarrassing and unhealthy. Abdominal cramps and diarrhea are potential effects of using aloe vera juice as a laxative, according to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Vitamin Supplementation

Aloe vera juice is highly concentrated with essential vitamins like A, B1, B2, B6, C and E, according to Worldofdiets.com. It also includes key minerals like calcium, zinc, iron and magnesium. Drinking aloe vera juice is akin to taking a multivitamin and can act as a dietary supplement if you need more vitamins and minerals in your diet.

Boost Immune System

In University of Mississippi study published in the "Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry" published in 2001, aloe vera juice increased the white blood cell count of aloe vera drinkers by 16 percent when compared to a placebo group. White blood cells are critical to the strength of the body's immune system, helping fight off infections and diseases.
