With four major sport professional teams and a top-flight athletic program at Georgia Tech, Atlanta offers sports camps for everyone. Beginners, future prospects and weekend warriors can get more training any time of the year in Atlanta. If you are looking for a place to hone your skills, then Atlanta needs to be a destination.
Baseball
Atlanta is home to numerous baseball camps aimed at all ranges of athletes. Georgia Tech hosts baseball camps during the winter for youths ages eight through 18. That includes hitting, pitching, catching and defense camps. The school also hosts a prospects camp in the fall for prospects. Emory University also hosts a summer baseball camp. Georgia State University hosts a prospects campus in the fall. Private camps include the North Atlanta Baseball Academy, Atlanta Youth Baseball and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes camp.
Basketball
The Atlanta area is home to several private and public camps. The Rising Stars Hoops camps are held in the winter and summer and focus on shooting, dribbling, rebounding and defense. Emory University hosts week-long camps for boys and girls every summer that focus on drills and include mini-tournament games under the watchful eye of the school's coaching staff. The Harlem Legends Basketball camps is held every summer and focuses on skills along with character development.
Football
Georgia Tech hosts several camps during the spring and summer including ones geared for quarterbacks, linemen, coaches and kicking. Legendary NFL punter Ray Guy hosts an annual summer kicking and punting camp that attracts teens from across the southeast. A private group called Offense-Defense also hosts a camp that features NFL staff as instructors. Several former Atlanta Falcon players host camps during the summer months as well.
Soccer
About a dozen soccer camps serve the Atlanta area. Check out the annual Emory University girls' soccer camp, which is aimed at children ages four through 17. Emory University offers several boys' cams as well including full day and elite camps. The Star Goalkeeper Camp is an annual summer clinic aimed at teaching young players how to keep the ball out of the net. The Soccer Academy offers day and overnight camps during the summer months for a wide variety of skill levels from elite to beginner.
Tennis
The ACE Tennis Camp has been one of Atlanta largest annual sports clinics since 2003. More than 30 coaches and instructors take part. Georgia Tech offers camps for juniors and seniors during the summer led by head coach Kenny Thorne. Emory University also hosts all-day camps for boys and girls during the summer.
