RV Resorts in Gulf Shores, AL

Gulf Shores, a city on Alabama's Gulf Coast, is known for its public beaches. The city and surrounding areas, such as Orange Beach, feature an abundance of spots where people can go swimming, sunbathing, surfing, boating, fishing, snorkeling or scuba diving. Outdoor enthusiasts can also play a game of golf, watch different forms of wildlife or go for a hike while staying in Gulf Shores. In Gulf Shores, visitors can stay in recreational vehicle resorts that are near beaches and other attractions.

Location

While staying in Gulf Shores' RV resorts, people can enjoy the beaches. Gulf Shores is home to Gulf State Park, with white sand beaches that serve as a popular spot for swimming and surfing. Throughout Gulf Shores, people can find public beaches. Campers interested in bird-watching or hiking can venture to Wade Ward Nature Park, a natural area with boardwalks and marshes, or Wetlands Nature Park, with ponds and hiking trails. Families taking a vacation with their children will find a variety of amusement parks, such as Waterville USA and the Track Family Recreation Center, where guests can go down water slides, play miniature golf, race around on a go-cart track, play games in an arcade or go on thrill rides.

Climate

Although Gulf Shores can see weather as low as 39 degrees in January, it generally has temperatures at or above the mid-50s from April through October, according to the Weather Channel. Gulf Shores often sees its warmest weather, at or above 90 degrees, and high levels of rainfall during the months of July and August. As the city has a moderate climate during most of the year, all of the RV resorts are open throughout the year.

Recreational Activities

Almost all of Gulf Shores' RV parks feature playgrounds for children, with basic features such as slides and swings. Some RV resorts, such as Island Retreat RV Park, Lazy Lake RV Park, Doc's RV Park, Gulf Breeze Mobile and RV Park, and Bay Breeze RV on the Bay, have other family-friendly recreational facilities, such as horseshoe pits, volleyball or shuffleboard courts, or rec rooms. The Gulf Breeze Mobile and RV Park offers planned activities for older and younger guests, such as card games, bingo nights and craft-making sessions.

Water Sports

Outdoor swimming pools are one of the most common amenities that guests will find at Gulf Shores' RV parks. Many RV resorts, including Doc's RV Park, Luxury RV Resort and Island Retreat RV Park, have swimming pools within a short walk or drive from one of Gulf Shores' beaches. Bay Breeze RV on the Bay is close to Mobile Bay, where guests can find swimming, boating, fishing, wildlife viewing, canoeing or kayaking. Lazy Lake RV Park features a private fishing lake.

State Parks

Gulf State Park offers RV and tent campsites as well as cottages and cabins for people who do not have their own RVs. Some of the RV campsites are on Middle Lake, where guests can enjoy water sports such as swimming, fishing and boating. Visitors can enjoy modern conveniences at the sites, as they have water, electrical and sewer hookups. The sites also come with picnic tables for family picnics. The state park has two golf courses, horseshoe pits, a fishing pier, nature trails, a picnic section and a concessions area for guests.
