Slim-Fast is a liquid diet plan that produces a 2-lb. weekly weight loss, according to Slim-Fast. As a Slim-Fast dieter, you drink two Slim-Fast shakes a day in place of two meals, such as breakfast and lunch, and eat one well-balanced regular meal and three snacks.

Slim-Fast Shake

On the Slim-Fast diet plan, you drink two shakes a day. Slim-Fast offers five regular shake flavors: cappuccino delight, French vanilla, creamy milk chocolate, rich chocolate royale and strawberries n' cream. Each regular shake contains about 190 calories, 6 g of fat, 24 g of carbohydrates and 10 g of protein. If you are concerned about carbohydrate intake, Slim-Fast offers low-carb creamy chocolate with 190 calories, 9 g of fat, 6 g of carbohydrates and 20 g of protein, according to Slim-Fast. Slim-Fast also has a high-protein chocolate shake with 190 calories, 5 g of fat, 24 g of carbohydrates and 15 g of protein. Shakes come as ready to drink or powdered mixes.

Slim-Fast Meal Bars

You can substitute Slim-Fast meal bars for a shake, according to the Slim-Fast diet plan. The meal bars come in five flavors, including chewy chocolate crisp, chocolate peanut caramel and oatmeal cinnamon raisin. Each meal bar contains 200 calories, 7 g of fat, 23 g of carbohydrates and 9 g of protein.

The Regular Meal

You are allowed to eat one well-balanced regular meal when following the Slim-Fast diet. The regular meal should contain about 500 calories, according to Slim-Fast, and consist of a lean protein, vegetable and a grain. Slim-Fast uses the plate method to help you control the calories of your meal. The plate method divides your meal plate into three sections, with one-half consisting of your vegetable portion, one-quarter your protein portion and the last one-quarter your grain portion. Slim-Fast suggests you choose lean meats or poultry as your protein portion; green beans, carrots or spinach as your vegetable portion; and whole-wheat pasta, brown rice or potatoes as your grain portion.

Snacks

Slim-Fast says you can have three 100-calorie snacks a day. Snacking helps you control hunger, according to Slim-Fast. You can choose to eat the Slim-Fast snack bars as your snack. The snack bars come in a variety of flavors, including chocolate nougut gone nuts and double-dutch chocolate. Each snack bar has 100 calories, 5 g of fat, 14 g of carbohydrates and 1 g of protein. Slim-Fast says fruit is another snack option. Good fruits to choose on the Slim-Fast plan include apples, bananas and pears.
