Planning the perfect event begins with finding the perfect location. Georgia brides and grooms can choose from a number of different wedding venues. They can say their vows at a log cabin chapel, at a huge antebellum plantation home or surrounded by beautiful flowers at a botanical gardens.
Plantation Wedding
For a true Southern belle, there is nothing more romantic than a wedding at a historic plantation. A beautiful home surrounded by gorgeous landscaping creates an elegant setting with a timeless feel.
Georgia has several plantations where a Georgia bride can say her vows. Alcyone Plantation is located south of Valdosta, with a stunning lake and 900 acres of land. In Pine Mountain, Georgia, brides can say I do in the gardens of an 1840 plantation home at Sweet Home Plantation.
Chapels
Another venue many brides choose is chapels. The Magnolia Terrace Chapel is a chapel that includes chairs and decorations. It is located in Helen, Georgia. The Mountain Top Inn and Resort Chapel allows brides to get married in a log cabin wedding venue on top of a mountain for a storybook wedding.
Historic Homes
The Higdon House Inn & Gardens is located in Greensboro, Georgia. It is available for weddings, parties and family reunions. The Inn can accommodate 300 people and your wedding can be held in the garden. The front lawn pavilion has chandeliers and a lighted dance floor.
Botanical Gardens
The readers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution voted the Atlanta Botanical Garden one of the "Best Places to Say 'I Do'." The gardens have a number of beautiful places to have your event. For a fragrant event, reserve the Rose Garden or plan an indoor event in the beautiful day hall. Don't miss the sea of pinks, purples and white orchids in the Fuqua Orchid Center, which can accommodate 300 guests.
Golf Courses
Golf courses are beautiful places to have an outdoor wedding. Many also have beautiful club facilities that can accommodate your guests at the reception. The Georgia Club has a wedding pavilion for an intimate outdoor ceremony and the Dawgwood Ballrooms can accommodate your guests comfortably at the reception.
Considerations
When planning a wedding in Georgia, there are many things to consider. If you are considering an outdoor event, think about the weather. Summers are very hot in the South and, therefore, you will need to make sure that you have a place guests can go to cool off.
