How Do You Read Weight Watcher's Scales

Some Weight Watchers scales offer advanced electronic measurements of your body fat, body water, bone mass and body mass index. In order to achieve accurate measurements, you must first input your height, age and gender by tapping the scale on, pressing the "Set" button, selecting a user number for yourself and then using the Up, Down and Set buttons to input the relevant information. Once you've done that, you can simply select your stored information, then step on the scale to read your detailed body analysis according to the steps outlined below.

Step 1

Place the scale on a flat, level surface. Tap the scale with your foot to turn it on. Wait for "0.0" to appear in the scale readout, then press the "User" button repeatedly until you get to the number you used when you entered your user data.

Step 2

Step on to the scale and stand with your weight evenly balanced between both feet. Stand still and glance down. The numbers on the scale identify your weight in pounds.

Step 3

Stay on the scale and keep looking at the numbers. After a few seconds the "BF" symbol will display, and the weight of your body fat will appear below your total weight. A yellow, green or red color-coded bar beneath the numbers will light up to tell you if your body fat is low, on target or high, respectively.

Step 4

Remain on the scale. Next, your body fat percentage will display beneath your weight. Look for the "BF" symbol and the percentage sign. Again, a color-coded bar will light up as well. Red means your body fat is high, green means it's on target, and yellow signifies that it's too low.

Step 5

Keep standing still as BW (body water), BM (bone mass) and BMI (body mass index) all display one after the other, each number remaining on display for a few seconds, along with a red, green or yellow colored bar to indicate whether you're high, on target, or low for each measurement.
