Bedwetting can be frustrating for both parents and kids, but it is common during childhood. Until your child is able to go through the night without having an accident, protect his bed from damage by waterproofing the mattress with plastic sheets or special pads or covers. Remove soiled linens and protective covers and wash them immediately after an accident is discovered.
Step 1
Strip the bed down to the mattress and remove pillowcases.
Step 2
Cover the mattress with a waterproof mattress cover or plastic sheet. Put waterproof cases on the pillows.
Step 3
Place a regular fitted sheet over the mattress cover or plastic sheet and regular pillowcases back on the pillows.
Step 4
If using a waterproof pad, either for extra protection or instead of a mattress cover or plastic sheet, place the pad on the area where your child will be sleeping. The pad goes over the fitted sheet and directly under the child.
Step 5
Continue making the bed as you normally would.
