Being single can be wonderful. There's nobody to answer to, freedom to date anyone and the hope that the perfect person will come around. It's not always easy to meet Mr. or Ms. Right, however. If you're a single who values an active lifestyle, it's important to be able to meet like-minded individuals who make healthy living a priority. Denver is a magnet for people who love the great outdoors, so there are many singles events and clubs that cater to your interests.

Single Mountain Enthusiasts

The Schussbaum Ski Club, which has mostly single members and is based out of Breckenridge, brings people together from Denver and all over Colorado to ski, snowshoe, bike, raft and camp in the Rockies. Up the Creek Ski and Rec Club is another group that takes advantage of Colorado's natural wonders, with recreational trips to the mountains as well as get-togethers at bars and restaurants in the Denver area. The club Summit Seekers caters to 40- to 50-year-old singles who enjoy spending their free time actively enjoying the Rockies.

Singles Dance

Whether you're an avid dancer or are interested in learning some steps, Denver has a group for you. The Dance Card Company in nearby Littleton sponsors dances in hotel ballrooms around the Denver area with a live orchestra, dance instruction and food and beverages in a throwback to more old-fashioned times. The Turnverein Dance & Cultural Center offers a smorgasbord of classes and social dances of various types---swing, ballroom, tango and salsa.

Single Golfers

Golf is a game for everyone of all athletic abilities and ages to enjoy and a great way to meet people who enjoy being outside and active. The Denver area has a number of beautiful courses for players of all skill levels, so it's a perfect place for people who love golf to connect. The American Singles Golf Association has a chapter in Colorado, giving single people who are avid golf enthusiasts a chance to meet and form a lifelong two-some.

Single Volunteers

For Denver singles who care deeply about causes ranging from poverty to climate or environmental change, the Single Volunteers of Greater Denver is the best and easiest way to meet other people who share your interests. A majority of the events are quite active, whether it be walking for a cause, helping the environment by planting trees and cleaning up trash or building a home.

Singles Recreation Groups

The Rocky Mountain Singles club is a popular way to meet people through a variety of events, like attending a Rockies or Avalanche game, bowling parties or adventure trips to whitewater raft, skydive or snowmobile. Another group, Sports 'n Social Connections, gives you a chance to meet through activities like golf, tennis, biking, skiing, dancing, bowling and--for those who like to break a mental sweat--a book club.
