Spokane is a city located in Washington. In addition to being the second largest city in the state, it is the county seat of Spokane County. At any age, enjoying your birthday is something many people look forward to. Planning a party can seem like a difficult task, but finding the right activities can make a party exciting.
Scavenger Hunts
Part of the Spokane Parks and Recreation department, the Corbin Art Center is a good place for having birthday activities. You can celebrate your child's birthday with the Kids Art Party Program. Plan a scavenger or treasure hunt at the center.
1950s Theme
Spokane has several '50s-style diners like Hogan's Hamburgers, Wolffy's Hamburgers, and Gramy's Diner. Invite your guests to arrive in their favorite '50s attire. Bake a record birthday cake--your choice of a round cake. Frost the entire cake with black frosting. Add a white paper circle in the center and drag a fork around to simulate grooves. Put some classic rock-n-roll on the jukebox.
Park Activities
Parks during mild weather are great, inexpensive places for parties. Mission Park has picnic tables, horseshoes, swimming and playground equipment. You can play games like pin the tail on the donkey, blind man's bluff and hot potato. Make treat bags by using brown or white paper lunch bags and personalize them.
Progressive Dinner
When celebrating birthdays, the 21st is a milestone. A progressive dinner is something young adults will like and Spokane has many restaurants from which to choose as they move from place to place between courses. If the adult drinks, start at a wine bar for wine and appetizers like Ambrosia Bistro and Wine Bar or Mizuna Restaurant and Wine Bar. The main course could be at the Luna Café, Milford's Fish House, or her favorite restaurant. Dessert can follow at a restaurant like Cyrus O'Leary's or Europa Pizzeria, both of which have good ratings.
Gymnastics Birthday Party
Spokane Gymnastics offers birthday parties. The parties last for an hour and a half, during which the children enjoy a lesson taught by trained instructors, based on abilities and interests. The activities will include a giant obstacle course, trampoline, zip-line, vault and beams. During the last 30 minutes, the children will receive goody bags. In addition, you may bring decorations, food and beverages, and additional goodies.
