The gel and juice of aloe vera plants have been used for centuries to heal topical wounds and treat internal conditions. According to holistic nutritionist and editor of NaturalNews.com, Mike Adams, the aloe vera plant has "healing abilities" when taken internally and offers "potent, natural medicine" that can treat a range of conditions, including high cholesterol, arthritis, kidney stones, ulcers and colon cancer. As with any alternative therapy, consult your physician before beginning treatment. Aloe vera gel is proven to be effective when applied topically in treating some skin disorders and wounds, but there is not evidence to support its use internally.

Step 1

Purchase organic aloe vera gel from your local natural foods store or from a reputable online supplier such as Lilyofthedesert.com or Aloelife.com. Aloe vera gel comes either in fillet, meaning the outer leaf has been removed, or whole leaf, which includes the outer leaf.

Step 2

Combine 2 to 8 ounces of organic aloe vera gel in a glass with your choice of juice and stir well. Aloe vera gel can be consumed on its own without a juice mixer, but some people do not like the taste of pure aloe vera gel.

Step 3

Drink the entire contents of the glass. You can divide your daily does into two drinks, or consume the desired daily dose in one drink.

Things You'll Need

  • Organic aloe vera gel, fillet or whole leaf
  • Juice of your choice
