A tubeless tire is quite tricky when it comes to inflating. It looks like a standard tire in that there is a valve that seemingly will inflate the tire when you attach a compressor to it. However, looks can be deceiving.

Step 1

Attach the compressor to the valve and turn it on. If you think that will inflate the tire you are mistaken. Because it's tubeless, the air will not fill the tire unless the rim is being contacted.

Step 2

Make sure your tire is contacting the rim. As long as it is contacting the rim it will inflate. If you are having trouble while the compressor is blowing, make sure that the inside of the tire is touching the rim.

Step 3

Use instant inflator to get your tubeless tire inflated. That should get it filled up right away.

Step 4

In order to insure that the tire will inflate, use a large amount of vaseline on both sides of the tire. Once the vaseline is on the tire and the compressor is attached to the valve and turned on, the tire will seat right away and fill up.

Step 5

Use a bungee cord and tie it around the tire tread so that it is tight to the rim. The bungee cord will help the tire stay in contact with the rim and that will help the tire fill.

Tips and Warnings

  • Clean the rim and make sure there are no foreign objects in it before you start inflating it.
