The loss of frontal hair growth is an issue that many men begin to face by middle age. Younger males can also encounter this problem whilst only in their twenties though. These people are probably more likely to put time and energy into discovering the most effective solution. Fortunately, remedying this occurrence does not require a great deal of effort. The benefits of a readily available herbal product---although not currently clarified by solid research---are well worth considering for any sufferer.

Step 1

Obtain a supply of saw palmetto. Buy a substantial amount, as you are required to use it on a long-term basis. Avoid products in tablet form if possible and instead choose one formulated as vegetable capsules---these are absorbed more fully in the vast majority of users. The hormonal influences of saw palmetto ingredients work to expand frontal hair growth over time. According to Medline Plus, "It has been suggested that saw palmetto may block some effects of testosterone and therefore reduce male pattern hair loss, similar to the medication finasteride."

Step 2

Take one capsule a day. Don't be tempted to exceed the recommended dose---it's unlikely that hair loss will be reversed any quicker by doing this. If you wish to maximize the effectiveness of saw palmetto, always take it on a completely empty stomach. Food and drink will compete for absorption and this consequently nullifies much of the potency of the plant extract's active constituents.

Step 3

Use on an ongoing basis. Although saw palmetto is a very favorable herb for developing the frontal hairline, unfortunately its benefits are not particularly abrupt. In fact, several years may pass in individuals with profound hair loss before 100 percent of the growth returns. It is imperative to take your supplement every single day, as this staunch consistency will speed things up as much as is realistically possible.

Step 4

Shower only minimally. Be careful not to spend an excessive length of time when doing this and regulate the temperature of the water carefully. Furthermore, be fully aware of the contents of the shampoo and conditioner products you have---as some people's skin reacts badly to certain ingredients. Exercising caution with these issues will help to reduce further hair loss.

Step 5

Scrutinize your frontal hair growth. Follicles will begin to show along the hairline above the forehead within a few days of beginning to take saw palmetto, but the rate of growth is slow in everybody. The "Everyday Mysteries" section of the Library of Congress website states, "Hair has the highest rate of mitosis (cell division). An average hair grows 0.3 mm a day and 1 cm per month."
