Know as America's first sport, according to the US Lacrosse Organization lacrosse was first played by Native Americans, sometimes with 1000 players on each team on a course that could extend for 15 miles.
A combination of soccer, basketball and hockey, lacrosse players today require a full set of equipment: each player is required to wear a helmet, gloves, arm guards or elbow pads and shoulder pads as well as owning their own stick and uniform; female players are also required to wear goggles.
Lacrosse equipment takes a beating, and to achieve the maximum life span of your equipment it is important to clean and maintain on a regular basis.
Step 1
Wipe your helmet inside and out with a clean damp cloth, then spray the inside with sanitizing spray.
Step 2
Spray your gloves with sanitizing spray and allow to air dry.
Step 3
Wash your arm guards and shoulder pads in a washing machine, using a delicate cycle and hanging on a line to dry.
Step 4
Rinse your goggles by hand, using a drop of dish or laundry soap and rinsing well. Dry with a lint-free cotton cloth.
Step 5
Clean you uniform by machine using liquid laundry detergent in a cold cycle and hang to dry. Note that if your uniform is red or white you should wash each piece separately.
