Excessively sweaty hands can be not only an embarrassing issue but also a sign of heightened anxiety. Lifestyle changes, such as limiting stressful encounters, instituting a meditation practice and eliminating caffeine may be helpful in dealing with sweaty hands. Although no herbs have been proven to cure sweaty hands, there are several that are purported to help, including valerian root, sage and chamomile. Each of these work to calm the body as a whole. Consult a doctor before treating any condition with herbs.

Valerian Root

The International Hyperhidrosis Society includes valerian root on its list of herbal substances that have been suggested as possible treatments for sweaty hands, though there is little research to support this claim. According to Medline Plus, valerian root is known to treat non-specific anxiety symptoms, though, which can be connected to excess sweating.

Sage

The International Hyperhidrosis Society also lists sage as a possible herbal treatment for sweaty hands. The Epicentre's Encyclopedia of Spices says that sage has "antiseptic, astringent and irritant properties." This drying effect is noted to help with excessive sweating and can also be used as a deodorant. To help with drying hands, place boiled tea bags in your palms and hold them for 10 minutes.

Chamomile

Chamomile is another possible herbal treatment that may help with sweaty hands, though it has not been proven in studies to do so. Chamomile is considered a calming herb, popular in nighttime teas before bed. Healthy Place says that chamomile is a natural treatment for anxiety, which can lead to excessive sweating. It can also help with stomach issues, which can also cause sweating due to pain.
