Ski poles grips are an important part of the ski pole and are necessary to help you grip the pole. Made of nonslip hard rubber, grips can be removed and replaced quickly. Grips are held to the ski pole with low temperature glue that allows the grips to become almost an interchangeable part of your pole. Remove your ski pole grips to replace them with a large grip and basket for powdery slope conditions and a small grip and basket for more groomed slopes.

Step 1

Heat water until it reaches 176 to 185 degrees F. Use a food thermometer to verify the temperature of the water.

Step 2

Fill a container with enough hot water to submerge the ski pole grip once you place it into the container.

Step 3

Place the ski pole grip into the container of hot water. Allow the grip to remain submerged for 30 to 40 seconds.

Step 4

Wrap the hot grip in a towel. Hold the ski pole with one hand while pulling the grip with the other to remove the grip.

Things You'll Need

  • Food thermometer
  • Large container
  • Towel
