Float fishing is a fun, visually exciting way to fish. Float fishing uses a floating indicator attached to your bait line that gives you a clear indication when a fish has taken the bait. When this happens, your float will be pulled under the water or along the water in the path of the baited fish. Choosing the right float depends on the type of fishing you are doing, whether it be deep and shallow lakes to fast or slow moving rivers.

Waggler Float

Step 1

Thread your line through the ring on the bottom of your waggler bobber by inserting the line through the metal loop.

Step 2

Look for the weight designation on the side of the waggler float. Set aside shot weight in accordance to the weight designation of the waggler float. For example, for a waggler float with a 2.5AA weight rating, set aside weight equaling 2.5AA total weight.

Step 3

Squeeze one 1AA weight to one side of the line in the location where you want the waggler bobber located. Slide the line into the cut in the shot weight and firmly squeeze the weight onto the line.

Step 4

Slide the waggler float flush with the weight. Squeeze another 1AA weight flush with the bobber on the other side of the line, trapping the bobber in between the two weights.

Step 5

Attach weights where desired on the line totaling no more than the remaining weight rating of the waggler bobber. For the 2.5AA waggler, you would have 0.5AA in weights to attach to the line where desired.

Ball Bobber

Step 1

Thread your line through the metal loop at the top of the bobber. Slide the bobber to the desired length of loose line.

Step 2

Hold the bobber upside down and depress the button on the top of the bobber to expose the loop at the bottom of your bobber. Thread your line through the loop at the bottom of the float bobber.

Step 3

Release the button on the top of the bobber to lock it into place. Apply weights where desired on your line. Do not surpass total weight on the line above the weight rating of your bobber.
