Built on an 11-gauge solid steel frame, the True CS6.0 treadmill is a commercial-quality cardio machine. Its motor, controls and running deck are designed for institutional use, and it comes with a price tag and hefty weight capacity--500 lbs.--to match.
Motor
The True CS6.0 comes with a self-cooling Max-Drive 5hp motor, which offers a maximum belt speed of 12 mph. The treadmill also motor-adjusts between 0 percent and 18 percent incline settings.
The treadmill deck features True Fitness's patented Soft System cushioning. The front of the belt contains neoprene shock absorbers to absorb impact from each foot strike, and the back of the deck provides a firmer surface for each push-off.
Programming
The CS6.0 has a total of 19 user programs available. These include a manual mode, nine preprogrammed workouts, three user-customizable workouts and five fitness testing protocols. The final workout is a "Heart Rate Control Cruise Control" option. When you start the program, your current heart rate is locked in as the target heart rate. The treadmill then adjusts speed and incline to keep you at that heart rate.
Features
Notable features include extended handrails, digital handgrip heart rate monitors and an in-console cooling fan. The CS6.0 is also compatible with wireless heart monitors, and compatible with all True Entertainment add-ons, including a console-mounted television. Other standard features include a reading rack, an intuitive-to-use LCD display, dual water bottle holders, dual accessory trays and a safety clip that automatically shuts the treadmill off if you fall, stumble or lag too far behind the belt speed.
Specs
The treadmill has an 84.5-inch by 37-inch footprint and weighs 518 lbs. It comes with front transport wheels, although you'll need multiple people to move it safely. The step-up height to get on the treadmill deck is 11.5 inches.
Price and Warranty
As of September 2010, the True CS6.0 MSRP is about $7,700. It comes with a lifetime frame warranty, five-year motor warranty, three years of coverage for all other parts and a policy that covers all labor costs for three years.
