Create a Spa at Home

A spa visit is the ultimate indulgence. However, it can be expensive and time-consuming. Fortunately, with the number of spa-related products on the market, it's easy to create a spa at home. There are definite benefits to doing this. Not only will it save you money, but when you're finished, you're at home. You can either dress for a night on the town, or simply relax and avoid the hassle of dealing with the outside world.

Step 1

Perform a foam roller session, which will combine the benefits of flexibility and massage. Lie prone over the roller, placing it under the front of your thighs. Allow your body weight to sink into the roller for about 30 seconds. Do the same for your outer thighs. Additional foam roller stretches can be found in the resource section.

Step 2

Take a shower and wash your hair. Rinse your hair and massage your scalp with the shower massage brush.

Step 3

Stay in the shower and apply the deep-conditioning hair treatment. Place a shower cap over your head, and wash your body using the loofah and the exfoliating scrub. Turn off the shower.

Step 4

Place a head wrap over the shower cap. Go to the sink, and turn on the hot water. Put your head in the sink and place a towel over your head. Steam your face for 10 minutes.

Step 5

Run a warm bath and put bath oil in the water. While the bath water is running, wash your face with an exfoliating scrub. Rinse your face and apply the facial mask.

Step 6

Relax in the bath for seven minutes, then drain the bath water.

Step 7

Dry your body, and apply hand and foot moisturizing treatment. Put on hand treatment gloves and foot treatment socks.

Step 8

Light scented candle and put on relaxing music. Place tea-bags over your eyes. Lie down and relax for 10 minutes.

Step 9

Rinse or peel-off facial mask. Take a shower and rinse off the conditioner.

Step 10

Dry and style your hair. Sprinkle your face with cold water. Apply facial and body moisturizer.

Tips and Warnings

  • A tennis ball can be used in lieu of the foam roller. If you have a massaging shower head, use it to massage your entire body.
  • Avoid excessively hot water if you have high blood pressure.
