Both sexes require the same vitamins, minerals and supplements to stay healthy, but because of personal lifestyle choices and other factors such as age and health, amounts of vitamins will be different among people. Vitamins are very important in helping the body with everyday functions and promoting overall health.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is an essential fat-soluble vitamin that's main function is too promote healthy vision and assist in the development of skin cells. The Mayo Clinic says that vitamin A helps with cellular growth. Also, research suggests that vitamin A may be able to help treat numerous health conditions that as cancer and improve your immune system. Vitamin A can be found in carrots, liver and eggs. According to the The U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance, men should get around 3,000 IU of this vitamin a day.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin, and contains antioxidant properties. Due to its antioxidant properties, vitamin E is an important vitamin for helping to protect your tissues and organs from free radicals, unstable substances that may cause damage. Vitamin E also helps to form red blood cells and helps your body use vitamin K effectively. Good sources of vitamin E include nuts, corn and sunflower seeds. The Food and Nutrition Board at the Institute of Medicine says that men should get 15 mg of vitamin E daily.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin. Due to this, it is not stored in your body, as it exists your body through urination. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center. vitamin C is required by the body to help make and maintain tissues. Vitamin C is also responsible for enhancing the production of red blood cells. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits like oranges. Men over the age of 18 should get around 90 mg of vitamin C every day.
