An exercise bike provides the user with a calorie burning workout without the hassle of going outside. While it is convenient to have a full on cardio workout in the comfort of your home, it can be quite boring riding a bike in the living room. Thanks to recent technology and imaginative minds, you now can play games while on your bike.

GameBikes

The company Gamebikes has done extensive research into making an exercise bike that is enjoyable to use. According to Gamebikes, when a person hooks their exercise bike up to a computer gaming console, then they will forget about the exercises all together. The revolutionary bike has built in steering wheel and controls. So the harder you work on the bike, the better you will do in the game. Gambike researchers claim that the average pedaling frequency was 9 percent higher during the interactive video game exercise in comparison to traditional cycling.

Cateye Excercise Bike

Cateye fitness products have both a standing and recumbent game bike. These bikes are compatible with PlayStation, Xbox and Game Cube. The bike is designed for racing games in which the rpm of your pedalling controls the speed and the specially designed handlebars control the steering. The exercise bike incorporates game play and produces a good workout with a commercially rated frame, fitness computer, heart rate monitor and six user programs.

Wii Cyberbike

Wii has been on the forefront of providing gaming based fitness to the people since they introduced Wii Fit. They have now come up with the Cyberbike. The Cyberbike release date, said to be due in 2011, would be the first of its kind to have a game made specifically for the bike. In this ecofriendly game you will use the bike to clean up pollution in 3-D maps with your cycle powered helicopter. According to Coated, the Wii Cyberbike will be compatible with a number of Wii games including Mario Cart and Wii Sports Resort.
