Ameda Breast Pump Review

Ameda is a manufacturer and distributor of breast pumps and related accessories. The device pumps and stores breast milk in order to supplement the natural breastfeeding process.

Use

Ameda breast pumps are designed for nursing mothers who want to continue to give their child breast milk but work outside the home, have trouble breastfeeding naturally, have twins or triplets, or who want the option to have other people provide temporary care for their infant.

Types

Ameda features three types of breast pumps: Purely Yours, a personal electric breast pump; hospital grade pumps, which are automatic; and hand-held manual breast pumps.

Automatic Pump Features

Ameda Purely Yours and hospital grade pump models feature tubing that doesn't require cleaning, the capacity to pump both breasts at once and manual suction and cycling controls. Hospital grade pumps are best for initiating your milk supply or feeding a sick or premature baby.

Manual Pump Features

Ameda manual pump models are small, portable and do not require batteries or electrical cords. They are designed for occasional use.

Availability

Ameda breast pumps are sold on the Ameda website, Amazon.com. and specialty online stores.
